Carménère

Origin: Carménère is primarily grown in Chile, where it has become a signature grape. It originated in Bordeaux, France, but is now rare in its homeland.

Production: This red grape variety produces medium to full-bodied wines with a distinctive herbaceous character. It is often aged in oak barrels to add complexity.

Taste: Carménère wines are known for their deep color, soft tannins, and flavors of black fruit, such as blackberry and plum, with notes of green pepper, spice, and earth.

Pairings: Carménère pairs well with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and dishes with bell peppers or spices. It also complements dark chocolate and strong cheeses.

Similar Wines: If you enjoy Carménère, you might also like Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc, which offer similar fruit and herbaceous characteristics.
