Grenache

Origin: Grenache (known as Garnacha in Spain) is primarily grown in the southern Rhône Valley of France, as well as in Spain and Australia.

Production: This red grape variety produces medium to full-bodied wines that are often blended with other varieties like Syrah and Mourvèdre. It is typically aged in oak barrels to add complexity.

Taste: Grenache wines are known for their rich, fruity flavors. Common tasting notes include strawberry, raspberry, and black cherry, with hints of spice and herbs. They often have soft tannins and moderate acidity.

Pairings: Grenache pairs well with grilled meats, stews, and dishes with bold flavors. It also complements aged cheeses and dishes with Mediterranean herbs.

Similar Wines: If you enjoy Grenache, you might also like Syrah, Tempranillo, and Zinfandel, which offer similar rich and fruity profiles.
